Aviation Act

Since 1991, the security of civil aviation has been regulated in theĀ Aviation Act. Sections 37a to 37v of the act are of particular importance here. A bill is currently before parliament proposing amendments to both the Aviation Act and the Weapons and Ammunition Act. With the amendment to the Aviation Act, powers relating to security in the civil aviation sector will be expanded and more clearly specified. Once the Weapons and Ammunition Act is amended, clothing, packages and baggage belonging to any person on airport premises can be searched for weapons.
